Description

The Princeton Garden Theatre presents a screening of multimedia artist Gustav Deutsch's 2013 film, Shirley: Visions of Reality, on Thursday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Cinema Today series organized by Princeton Arts Fellow Pacho Velez and Professor of Visual Art Joe Scanlan.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Gustav Deutsch & Hanna Schimek.

Deutsch directed this highly unique film based on the work of painter Edward Hopper. Using thirteen of Hopper’s paintings, Deutsch weaves the story of one woman through four decades whose thoughts and beliefs take us through an era in American history. Shirley: Visions of Reality features beautiful art direction and cinematography that evokes the spirit and tone of Hopper’s work.
